Natural Indian Slates

Slates are fine-grained metamorphic stones composed of clay, sedimentary rock shells, and, in some cases, quartz. In general, the rock may split into relatively thinner slabs. It provides a very graceful, natural finish to any building or home. The most common colors of slate are copper, gold, multicolor, black, dark grey, greenish grey, copper, and purplish grey, all of which have excellent shining properties. Slate has been used for a variety of applications, the most common of which are roof shingles in their natural form, floors, wall cladding, and strong colorful tiles. India slate is one of the lowest maintenance flooring materials available. Its natural anti-skid and low water absorbance properties, combined with resistance to cracking, durability, ease of maintenance, anti-climate, chipping, and abrasion resistance, make it a popular material for both indoor and outdoor applications.
